Microsoft project management software used to plan, manage, and communicate a project schedule and other information among workgroup members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Dear @kristine pederson,
I hope you’re having a good day and thank you for your question and for sharing this suggestion.
I’ve taken some time to research and look into the available options related to your request. At the moment, there is no documentation or setting that describes a way to make Week view the default in Planner’s Schedule (Calendar) view. Currently, Microsoft Planner always opens Schedule view in Month view and switching to Week view needs to be done manually each time. This is a current product limitation, rather than a configuration or customization option that can be enabled.
Speaking personally, as a Planner user as well, I completely understand why this can feel inconvenient. There have been times when I’ve noticed the same thing, and being able to set Week view as the default would definitely make daily or short‑term task tracking much more efficient. From that perspective, your suggestion makes a lot of sense.
I truly appreciate you raising this idea. I strongly believe this is a valuable feature request, and you are certainly not the only user who would benefit from it. Feedback like this often reflects real‑world usage, and it can help guide future product improvements.
At this time, the best way to move forward is to submit feedback or a feature request directly to Microsoft so the Planner product team can review it. You can do this through the Microsoft feedback channels, or by posting your idea in the feedback portal, where many existing Planner features have already been developed based on community input.
As a forum moderator, I’m unfortunately not able to submit feedback on your behalf or participate directly in product development decisions. That said, I fully support this suggestion, it’s a great idea and a very reasonable request. If you decide to post your feedback, feel free to share the link here. I’d be more than happy to upvote it, and I believe other users would be as well.
If the information above helps answer your question, you may consider marking this reply as the accepted answer. Doing so helps make the discussion more visible and may encourage other users with similar needs to join in and share their feedback as well.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts, for contributing to the community, and I wish you all the best.
Warm regards,
