    Hi there,

To remove the Parental restrictions, you'll want to use an administrator account. Try creating a new account that isn't the child's account you're currently using. Could you please let me know if you have access to the administrator account? You can check this by going to Settings > Accounts > Family and other users.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

To stop parental controls and use the laptop as an adult, adjust or remove the child account from Microsoft Family Safety and remove parental consent if needed.

    1. Remove or relax Family Safety restrictions
      1. Go to https://family.microsoft.com and sign in with the organizer (adult) Microsoft account that was used to set up parental controls.
      2. Select the child account (your son’s account).
      3. Under each area (Screen time, Content filters, etc.), turn off limits and filters, or set them to more permissive values.
    2. Remove parental consent (if the account should no longer be treated as a child)
      1. Sign in with the same adult account that originally granted consent.
      2. Go to Manage permissions.
      3. Select the child account and choose the option to remove consent.
      4. If the child account does not appear, consent may have been granted by a different adult account; that adult must sign in and remove consent, or recover their account using the guidance in the article.
    3. Remove the child from the Family group (optional)
      1. Sign in at https://family.microsoft.com with the organizer account.
      2. Select the child account.
      3. If shown, first select Remove consent next to their name.
      4. Go back to the family group and select Remove from family group for that member.

After these steps, Family Safety restrictions and permission prompts should stop on the laptop for that account. If the laptop is still enforcing Family Safety settings for an adult account even after removal, follow the “safety reset” steps in the “Family Safety settings enforced on adults” article on each affected device.
