As of 4/7/26 I have no access to my OneDrive files. Cannot unlock personal vault.

    Hello, thank you for sharing the screenshot.

    If you are able to access your Personal Vault online, but not on the OneDrive desktop folder, try resetting OneDrive by following the steps here:

    Reset OneDrive


    If the issue persists,

    Ensure that you are connected to a Wi‑Fi network (internet access is required to use Personal Vault) and that any VPN is turned off or disabled.

    Then, press the Windows key + R, type services.msc, and click OK.

    Locate FileSyncHelper in the list, right-click it, and make sure the service is running and that the Startup type is set to Manual.

    If the service is already running, click Stop, wait a few seconds, and then click Start to restart the service.

    After that, check whether you can access the OneDrive Personal Vault folder.

    1. Do you receive any specific error code or message when trying to access Personal Vault in the OneDrive desktop app?
    2. Are you able to access your OneDrive Personal Vault online?

    1. Open any web browser and start an InPrivate/Incognito browsing session.
    2. Go to: https://onedrive.live.com/
    3. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    4. In OneDrive, go to the My files section and select the Personal Vault folder.
    5. You should be prompted to verify your identity using your alternate security email address or phone number.
    6. Enter the verification code and check whether you can successfully access all your files in the Personal Vault folder online.
