You update your Legal name on your Microsoft Learn profile under Settings https://learn.microsoft.com/users/me/settings

If you have an exam booked, you will be shown a message and link to contact Credentials support https://learn.microsoft.com/credentials/support/help#how-to-submit-a-support-request

The legal name on the certification profile must match the government-issued ID exactly; otherwise, the proctor can disqualify the exam and the fee or voucher can be forfeited if the appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

To address the name issue and future exams, take these steps:

    1. Update the legal name in the Learn profile
      • Sign in to the Learn profile that is linked to the exam.
      • Go to profile Settings.
      • Follow the instructions for updating the Legal Name so it appears exactly as on the ID (for example, first name: "Vivek", last name: "N").
      • If the page shows messaging instructing to contact Certification Support to change the legal name, follow that link and file a ticket with the Credentials Support team so they can correct it.
    2. If the exam appointment was forfeited
      • When an exam is not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the appointment, the entire exam fee or voucher is forfeited under the reschedule and cancellation policy. In that case, a new exam registration and payment or voucher will be required.
    3. For any issues with the previous appointment
      • For exam appointment and scheduling issues (including questions about the disqualified attempt), contact Pearson VUE Support using the Microsoft-specific Pearson VUE support channel listed in the credentials support documentation.

After the legal name is corrected in the Learn profile and any scheduling issues are resolved with Pearson VUE, a new AZ‑700 exam appointment can be scheduled.
