I tried Media Player, but didn't like it. For unknown reasons, I uninstalled Legacy. Is there any way to install Windows Media Player Legacy from scratch? Using Windows 11 Professional.

If this does not work, please try to install Windows Media Player Legacy via DISM Command

Press Windows key+X then select Windows Terminal Admin

Copy and paste the command below then press Enter

    DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:"WindowsMediaPlayer" /All

On Windows 11 Professional, Windows Media Player Legacy is an optional feature that can be reinstalled from scratch.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Select Start > Settings.
    2. Go to System > Optional Features.
    3. Select View features.
    4. In the search box, type Windows Media Player Legacy.
    5. Check the box next to Windows Media Player Legacy.
    6. Select Next, then Add to install it.

If Windows Media Player Legacy does not appear (for example, on an N edition of Windows 11), install the Media Feature Pack for Windows 11 N first, which restores Windows Media Player Legacy and related media technologies.

If Windows Media Player Legacy is present but not working correctly, it can be removed and reinstalled via Turn Windows features on or off:

    1. Select Start, type features, then select Turn Windows features on or off.
    2. Expand Media Features.
    3. Clear the Windows Media Player check box and select OK.
    4. Restart the PC.
    5. Repeat steps 1–2, then select the Windows Media Player check box.
    6. Select OK and restart again to reinstall the latest version.
