I'm trying to update calendar invites without sending an email notice to attendees.

HI - yes I got your reply but I had already worked with AI to figure it out. It is super frustrating that you can't make minor changes to an event without sending an update to every person. I've been using Outlook on the Web and it allows me to add or delete people and only send the notice to those added or deleted.... After using Copilot I was led to download and use Outlook Desktop thinking I would at least have that same option along with more choices. But I was wrong - I added one person to a meeting of over 200 people and when I hit send it did not give me the option to only send to the new person:(. Super bummer!

I did get some good information and may have found some solutions but the above incident was a bad move for our association...

    Hi Nina Furukawa

I understand you are having problems with updating an Outlook calendar meeting without sending an email notice to attendees in Outlook.com.

    Could you confirm:

    • Are you signed in at outlook.live.com (personal Outlook.com) or outlook.office.com (work/school)?
    • What exactly are you changing: time/date, location, attendee list, or only the description/body? (Core fields are treated as full updates.)

I would love to hear from you. Have a lovely day!

In Outlook on the web / Outlook.com, updates to a meeting that has attendees normally send an update to those attendees. The available behavior from the provided information is:

    • When changing a meeting created by the organizer, after editing and selecting Send, Outlook sends an updated invite to attendees so their calendars stay in sync.
    • In classic Outlook, when adding attendees only, there is an option to send updates only to added or removed attendees instead of everyone.
    • In new Outlook, when updating only the attendee list, after selecting Send there is an option to send updates only to added or removed attendees; other attendees do not receive an update email but keep the event on their calendars.

From the provided context, there is no supported option described that allows changing an existing meeting with attendees and saving it without sending any update to attendees.
