To reinstall Office on your reset computer, visit the Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account. Find the listing for your edition of Office and click on the Install link to the right of that listing. After downloading the installer, run it and activate Office using the email address of your Microsoft account.

My understanding is that your problem is with your license for Office / Microsoft 365 and that (1) this is not on your Microsoft account and (2) came preinstalled on your laptop. I also understand that you do have Windows 11 operating properly. If any of these understandings are wrong, disregard the rest of this and write back.

If you were not given a product key and installation information with your purchase your remedy is with the manufacturer/seller of your laptop.

This is because the installation must be in the account of your seller or the manufacturer.

Double-check on the subscriptions tab of your account page. https://account.microsoft.com/services?lang=en-US#main-content-landing-react (That is set for English US but should automatically change to a different language per your Windows settings.) If your purchase is attached to your account, all you need do is download the desktop applications from that page. Note that for Office 2021 (not Windows, but Office) it should appear toward the bottom of the page under "Products you've purchased."

    Hi, rushikesh vishe

After a reset, Windows 11 and Office 2021 are usually treated separately. On many laptops, the Windows 11 license reactivates automatically on the same device, but Office 2021 often needs the original Microsoft account, a digital license, or the original key/card used when it was first activated.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

First check Windows 11 activation in Settings > System > Activation. If it was already licensed on this laptop, it should normally activate again once the device is online.

If you want to see the built-in Windows key, open Command Prompt as Administrator and run: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey. This can show the OEM key stored in the device firmware.

For Office 2021, try checking the laptop box, invoice, email receipt, or any product key card. Many newer Office installs do not show the full key later, because activation is tied to the Microsoft account or a digital key.

If Office was only a preinstalled trial, there is no permanent key to recover. If it was a paid preinstalled copy and you do not know the old account, it is recommended that you contact the laptop maker or Microsoft support with proof of purchase and ask them to help restore the license.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.

    Hello @rushikesh vishe

Good day! I hope you are doing well.

Based on your description, I understand that after resetting your laptop, you are experiencing issues with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint showing limited or non‑advanced features, and you are concerned that this may be related to a missing Windows or Office product key.

Please let me know if I misunderstood any part of your issue or if there are additional details you’d like to share.

To help provide the most accurate and effective solution, could you please confirm the following details about your setup:

    • Which Windows version is currently installed on your device (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
    • Which Office version are you using, Microsoft 365 (subscription) or a one‑time purchase such as Office 2016, 2019, or 2021? Is it a Personal, Professional, Home, Education, Business, or Enterprise version?
    • Was Microsoft Office preinstalled on your device, or was it purchased and installed separately?
    • Do you recall which Microsoft account you previously used to activate or sign in to Office? Are you currently able to sign in Office with this account?
    • When opening Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, do you see any error messages or activation prompts? If so, please share the exact wording if possible.

This additional context will help us better understand your environment and determine whether the issue is related to Office activation, account sign‑in, or licensing.

I apologize if I could not jump straight to a solution. I want to avoid suggesting any steps that might be inaccurate or unhelpful without fully understanding your setup. Once we have the details above, we’ll be able to assist you more effectively and guide you toward the appropriate resolution.

Looking forward to your response so we can get this sorted out for you together.
