Unable to create Azure AI Search service in EAST US 2

While deploying AI Search service I received the error: The region 'eastus2' is currently out of the resources required to provision new services. Try creating the service in another region. Since all my other resources use eastus2 I want to deploy ai search in same region, Is there any way to resolve this issue or any timeline when would the capacity constraint be removed?

I understand that you're facing issue with "EastUS2" region. In this scenario you have couple of options:

Opt for another region. However as you mentioned your resources are in same region, you want EastUs2 only.

Switching to paid tier if possible.

Thank you. I want to clarify that I am already trying to deploy Azure AI Search using paid SKUs such as Basic and Standard, not the Free tier. Since Basic and Standard are already billable tiers, could you please confirm whether there is any workaround for creating a new service in East US 2 under the current capacity constraint, or whether I need to wait for capacity/support intervention?

Please could you try using REST API or ARM template to update your sku. Here are some references on how to create/update your search service with REST API/ARM:

Thank you. I want to clarify that I am trying to create a new Azure AI Search service, not update the SKU of an existing one. I understand the referenced REST API is a ‘create or update’ API, but can you please confirm whether using REST API/ARM is expected to help with new service creation in East US 2 under the current capacity constraint, or whether this guidance only applies to updating an existing service? Also, since the rest of our environment is managed through Bicep, I want to avoid a one-off manual deployment.

I tested the Azure AI Search management REST API for new service creation in eastus2, and it fails with InsufficientResourcesAvailable: ‘The region eastus2 is currently out of the resources required to provision new services. Try creating the service in another region.’ Could you please confirm whether there is any Microsoft-side support escalation or backend intervention available for new AI Search service creation in East US 2, or whether the only current option is another region?

I am having the same issue trying to deploy Azure Search to EastUS2

SKU: Standard
Replicas: 1

I have tried multiple times over the last few days and I always hit the same error. All the infrastructure I'm attempting to provision is in IaC, so I'm confident that my configuration is correct.

Can this be directly escalated or will we need to open tickets? Currently blocking our Prod rollout

yeah this is just capacity issue in eastus2 for Azure AI Search, region is full and Azure cant allocate new service there, nothing wrong with ur config. there is no way to force deployment or reserve capacity manually. what u can do is wait and retry later (capacity frees up randomly), try a different SKU (sometimes only specific tiers are exhausted), or deploy in a nearby region like eastus or centralus and connect cross-region. support usually cant override this bc its not quota, its real hardware capacity. tl dr region full so either wait or move.

the only solution at the moment is to use a region with free capacity.
they are out of capacity in ALL of these regions:

East US
East US 2
South Central US
West US

Available options in the US:

Central US
North Central US
West US 2
West US 3
West Central US

Please try for different SKU region that supports the required tier and features. May be lot users have created resources, please check for the nearby available regions.
