Gmail (Google) contacts can be synced to Teams for personal and small business use (including Microsoft Teams Free) from the Teams People settings. If only Outlook appears as an option, use the full Teams client (Windows/Mac or web) rather than relying only on mobile, and then follow these steps:
- In Teams on Windows or Mac, select Settings and more (three dots) > Settings > People.
- Under Sync contacts, select Manage.
- Choose From Google.
- Sign in to the Google account when prompted and select Allow to let Microsoft apps and services access the Google account.
- Complete the flow to return to Teams.
After syncing, Google contacts become visible in the People section of Outlook.com under My contacts, and are discoverable in Teams on other signed-in devices. If needed, contacts from a mobile device can also be synced via Settings > People > Sync my device contacts.
If later wanting to stop syncing or remove Google contacts from Teams:
- Go to Settings and more > Settings > People.
- Under Sync contacts, select Manage.
- In Already synced, select Remove next to From Google.
On mobile, turning Sync my device contacts off in Teams removes those device contacts from Outlook.com.
