Hi! You may have increased storage for another account, or your request may have been declined. It could also be a OneDrive Desktop bug.

If you are seeing available storage through OneDrive Desktop, check if the storage has been updated in OneDrive Web: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/online-cloud-storage

    • Log in > See Storage in the lower left corner.
    • If you have a Gmail account, you may have linked it to Windows and increased its storage instead of your main account. Log in with all your emails on the OneDrive website and see if the updated storage appears in any of them.

You can also access the link below, which shows your purchase history.

OneDrive storage is tied to the specific Microsoft account being used. Signing up for a new subscription or account does not change the storage limit of a different, existing account.

    To fix this:

    1. Confirm which Microsoft account is full
      • Sign in to OneDrive on the web using the email address that receives the “storage full” or “storage limit exceeded” messages.
      • Check the storage bar to see if this account is over quota.
    2. Get back under the storage quota on that account
      • In that same account, select Storage used (or Manage your OneDrive storage) to see what’s taking up space.
      • Delete large or unneeded files and then Empty your Recycle Bin so they no longer count against the quota.
      • If needed, buy more storage for that same Microsoft account via Upgrades.
    3. Make sure the subscription is on the correct account
      • If a Microsoft 365 subscription was purchased with a different Microsoft account, the extra OneDrive storage applies only to that subscription account, not to the older account that is full.
      • Sign in with the subscription account and confirm its OneDrive storage; if this one has more space, move files to this account or start using this account as the primary OneDrive.
    4. Allow time for quota updates
      • After purchasing additional storage or freeing space, it can take up to 24–48 hours for the new quota status to fully update across services.

If the account that is full is already the same one with the subscription and the quota has not updated after 48 hours, contact support from that account.
