Authenticator restored backup but asks for qrcode for #EXT# logins

Hello,

I've bought a new phone (still have the old one). On the old phone I did a cloud backup for the Authenticator data and restored it successfully on the new phone.

Problem is that on two DevOps accounts I am registered as a "Guest User", so on my Authenticator page the account shows something like "ricardag_mydomain.com#EXT#@otherdomainhotmail.com"

On these accounts, Authenticator requests that I scan the QR Code for these account recovery, but obviously these account doesn't exists!

When I log in using my real account "ricardag@mydomain.com" on these guest accounts the authentication request is being sent only to the old phone, but not to the new one.

If I approve the log-in on any #EXT# account on the old phone and try to generate a new QR Code on my #EXT# profile, Microsoft brings me to my real profile page, so this is not an option.

How can I solve this? I appreciate any help!

So a colleague of mine figured it out and helped me, so I'm posting this for anyone looking for this.

    1. Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations. You'll be logged in for you main account.
    2. Top right, click your account and choose 'Switch organisation' (instructions continue after image)

    3. Choose the organisation of which you need a QR code to verify (instructions continue after image)
      202323-image.png
    4. Approve the sign-in on your old device
    5. In the left menu, choose 'Security info'
    6. Don't be fooled by the logo in the top screen! It will show the company logo of your main account, instead of the company logo of your guest account. So you might think you're back where you started, but you're not!
    7. You'll probably see your old phone and not your new as a registered device. Click 'Add sign-in method' and follow the instructions! (instructions continue after image)

    8. Repeat for any other companies you have a guest account for! ;)

I hope this helps anyone in the future, looking for this answer just as I did!
