How to recover a deleted email draft. I accidentally deleted it. Recover deleted emails did not work.

I accidentally deleted an email draft.

I tried to recover it but it doesn't work. Is there any way I

can get it back?

Hello. Drafts are handled the same as regular emails. When deleted, they are first moved to Deleted Items. If they are no longer there, recovery options become very limited.

Was this using Outlook desktop, Outlook on the web, or a different app?

The standard checks are:

1. Review the Deleted Items folder carefully
2. Use the “Recover Deleted Items” option.

Just keep in mind drafts aren’t versioned or backed up separately, so if it’s not in Deleted Items or the recovery list, there’s a good chance it’s gone and can’t be restored.

Why can't outlook rewind to a few days ago so all of my emails on my account on that day will be put back onto my email account?

In Outlook.com and Outlook on the web, deleted items (including drafts) can only be recovered if they are still in Deleted Items or in the Recoverable Items area.

1. Check the Deleted Items folder:
   • In Outlook.com/Outlook on the web, open the Deleted Items folder.
   • If the draft is there, select it and use Move → choose the target folder (for example, Drafts or Inbox).
2. If it is not in Deleted Items, check Recoverable Items:
   • In the left pane, select Deleted Items.
   • At the top of the message list, select Recover items deleted from this folder.
   • In the Recoverable Items list, select the message if it appears, then choose Restore.
   • Restored items go back to their original folder when possible (for a draft, typically Drafts or Inbox).

If the draft does not appear in Deleted Items or in Recover items deleted from this folder, it has been permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
