Based on the symptoms, the timeout when signing in to a business (work) account on Outlook for Android is most likely caused by how the mail server is configured, not by the Samsung device itself.

For a Microsoft 365 work account (Exchange Online):

    1. Make sure Outlook for Android is fully up to date from the Play Store.
    2. If the account intermittently connects or times out, avoid repeatedly pressing Sync or switching folders quickly; wait at least 10 minutes before retrying so any throttling is automatically cleared.
    3. If the problem persists across both mobile data and Wi‑Fi, contact the organization’s IT admin and provide the details (device model, Android version, and that Outlook mobile times out). Ask them to:
      • Check for any throttling or connectivity issues on the mailbox.
      • Review mobile device details and logs for the account.

For an on‑premises Exchange business account:

    1. Ask the IT admin which Exchange Server and Windows Server versions are in use and which TLS version is enabled.
    2. Outlook for Android now blocks sign‑in to environments using TLS 1.0 or 1.1. The server must support TLS 1.2 or later. If the server is still on TLS 1.0/1.1, the admin must:
      • Follow the Exchange TLS 1.2 guidance to enable TLS 1.2 on Exchange and Windows Server.
      • If the Exchange version is older than 2010, upgrade to a supported version that can use TLS 1.2.
    3. If TLS 1.2 is already enabled, the admin should:
      • Verify that the TLS certificate is valid and correctly installed.
      • Renew the certificate if it is expired, then test sign‑in again from Outlook for Android.

If the issue continues after the admin confirms TLS 1.2 and a valid certificate, provide them with the exact error text (“connection to your mail server timed out” or similar) and the time it occurs so they can correlate with server logs.
