    Hi Paul M Johnson,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Please try the steps from Q&A Assist first, as Outlook on Android can sometimes default to the Gmail calendar. Enable Sync calendars in Outlook, and if you’re creating events from your phone’s Calendar app, change the Default calendar to Outlook/Microsoft instead of Gmail.

If it still doesn’t improve, please reply and share what result you see so I can help further.

On Outlook for Android, the default calendar is controlled by the account set as the default data file/calendar in Outlook (on desktop) and by which account’s calendar is selected when creating events.

To make the preferred email account the default calendar for new meetings/appointments in Outlook (desktop), then have that reflect in mobile:

    1. In Outlook on the computer, select File > Info > Account Settings > Account Settings.
    2. Select the Data Files tab.
    3. Choose the account whose calendar should be the default and select Set as Default.
    4. Select Close.

New meetings and appointments created in Outlook will now go to that account’s calendar by default. When that Outlook account is used in Outlook for Android, new events created from that account will use its calendar.

If using the Android default Calendar app and want Outlook calendars (for the preferred account) instead of Gmail:

    1. In Outlook for Android, go to Settings > [your Outlook account] > Calendar.
    2. Turn on Sync calendars so that this account’s calendar appears in the device’s default Calendar app.
    3. In the Android Calendar app, choose that Outlook calendar as the one to view/use instead of the Gmail calendar.

If Gmail is still appearing as default when creating events in the Android Calendar app, open that app’s settings and change the default calendar there to the Outlook account calendar that was synced.
