I want my old renewal rate for Microsoft 365

I got a notice yesterday that my Microsoft 365 was expiring and did I want to renew at 69.99. I said no because I could not afford it. Then I realized I did in fact need it to run my programs, so I said go ahead and renew it. Now it's $99.99!!! Is there a way you can offer me a one-time courtesy at the old rate because I clearly made a mistake?

Thank you!

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. My apologies but you will not be able to go back to the previous pricing for the subscription if you are to subscribe again and this is because of the integration of new features like Copilot for Microsoft 365. You can also see the link below to check on which plan and it's inclusion of features best suites you at the time being.

Price changes and one-time courtesy adjustments for Microsoft 365 subscriptions cannot be handled through self-service; they require direct assistance from Microsoft or, if the subscription was purchased through a third party, from that retailer.

For a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscription purchased directly from Microsoft, contact support and explain the situation and the recent price change. Support can review the account, confirm renewal details, and advise on any available options.

    Steps:

    1. Verify the subscription and renewal status and pricing in the Microsoft account billing area by signing in and checking Services/Subscriptions.
    2. If the expiration or renewal details do not look right, or if a courtesy adjustment is requested, contact Microsoft Support for Microsoft 365 Family or Personal: use the contact options described under “contact support” in the article.
    3. If the subscription was purchased through a third party (for example, a retailer or mobile app store), contact that provider’s billing support, as they control pricing and adjustments for those purchases.

While waiting for resolution, Office Online can be used for free in a web browser at Office.com to access basic Word, Excel, and PowerPoint functionality.
