Please advise how to update to latest version and build as 'Windows Update' doesn't seem to be picking it up.

Your version of Windows 11 is over 3 years out of date and no longer supported, if you are not offered the 24H2 update or 25H2 update automatically in the Settings app, the most successful method to install version 25H2 is to use the Windows 11 ISO.

You will need at least 40GB of free space on your C drive for the update.

Please ensure you download the ISO in the same language as you use for the Windows UI, follow the steps, this is then not like re-installing Windows, it is just like an update and your personal files, settings and installed software will not be affected.

    Click this link:

to download the Windows 11 ISO

When the ISO file completes downloading

    Disconnect from the Internet

Disconnect all external devices with the exception of a mouse or keyboard.

Temporarily disable any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed

Then, in Windows File Explorer, double click the ISO and then run Setup.exe and select the Install option.

Very Important - ensure you select the option to keep your files and apps.

To move from Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (build 22621.4317) to the latest Windows 11 release when Windows Update does not offer it, use a manual upgrade path.

    1. First, try normal Windows Update
      1. Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      2. Select Check for updates and install everything offered, including any cumulative or quality updates.
      3. Restart if required and repeat Check for updates until no further updates are available.
    2. If a newer feature version (for example 24H2/25H2) still is not offered Use one of these manual options: Option A – Windows Update Assistant
      1. Go to the Windows Update Assistant page and select Download the Windows Update Assistant.
      2. Run the tool; it will check hardware compatibility and then download and install the latest Windows 11 feature update.
      3. Follow the on‑screen steps and restart when prompted.
The Update Assistant is intended specifically for cases where the device has not received the latest feature update automatically through Windows Update. Option B – In‑place upgrade using an ISO (if Update Assistant still does not offer latest build)
      1. Download the latest Windows 11 ISO from the Microsoft Software Download page.
      2. Mount the ISO in File Explorer and run Setup.exe.
      3. Choose to keep personal files and apps when prompted.
      4. Complete the setup and let the system restart multiple times.
      5. After the upgrade, open Settings > Windows Update and install any remaining cumulative updates.
    3. Verify the new version
      1. Press Win + R, type winver, and press Enter.
      2. Confirm that the Version and OS Build now show the latest installed release.

If Windows Update Assistant cannot run, ensure the device is x86/x64 (it does not run on ARM‑based PCs).
