Hello I’m Virginia a fellow Windows user.

Are you trying to reply to a pop up onscreen purporting to come from Microsoft security & asking you to phone the number shown? If so then this is a scam, all that is needed is to restart the pc & then once back in Windows to open the browser & delete the cookies, cache & history, this will sign you out of all websites, I’d also recommend turning off browser notifications.

To speak with a real person at Microsoft about Windows 11 security issues on a home computer, use one of these official options:

    1. Use the “Get help” support option for home users
      • Go to Help with Microsoft Store purchases and select the Get help button.
      • Describe the problem (for example: “Windows 11 security problem on my home computer, need phone support”).
      • The system will either give self-help steps or connect to support, including chat or an option to request a call so Microsoft calls back. This avoids needing to dial a number yourself.
    2. Use the general Microsoft support contact
      • Go to Microsoft support and choose Contact a Microsoft support agent.
      • Follow the prompts, choose the product (Windows) and topic (security/privacy), then select chat or call me back to reach a live agent.
    3. If a phone number is needed
      • For some regions, Microsoft publishes Customer service phone numbers. These can be used to reach frontline support, who can then route to the correct team (including security-related issues).
    4. If a pop‑up or caller claims to be “Microsoft security”
      • Real Microsoft error messages do not show phone numbers to call.
      • Microsoft does not cold‑call to say there is a problem with a computer.
      • If there are scary pop‑ups asking to call a number, close the browser (press ALT+F4) or restart the computer. Do not call the number shown.
      • Tech support scams can be reported at https://microsoft.com/reportascam.

If signing in is difficult, ask a trusted friend or family member to help follow these steps and set up the “call me back” option so support can talk through the problem by phone.
