Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

If you are using the integrated audio on your computer or motherboard, you can usually find the sound driver on the manufacturer's support website. However, if you have an external audio controller or a USB headset, the driver will be on the device manufacturer's website.

To assist you better, please clarify the following:

    • Are you using a USB headset, an external audio card, or the computer's built-in audio ports?
    • What is the manufacturer and model of your computer or motherboard?

If you are unsure of the model, follow these steps:

    1. Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.
    2. Maximize the window and use the shortcut Windows + Shift + S to capture a screenshot.
    3. Share the screenshot here or tell me what is listed under System Manufacturer and System Model.

    Looking forward to your reply.

To get and install the correct sound drivers in Windows 10, use these steps:

    1. Use Windows Update (recommended)
      1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
      2. Select Check for updates.
      3. Install any available updates.
      4. Restart the PC. Audio driver updates are commonly delivered through Windows Update.
    2. Update the audio driver in Device Manager
      1. Select Start, type Device Manager, and select it.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. Right‑click the audio device (for example, Realtek, Intel SST, or similar) and select Update driver.
      4. Select Search automatically for drivers.
      5. Follow the on‑screen instructions and then restart the PC.
    3. Reinstall the audio driver (if updating doesn’t help)
      1. Open Device Manager.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. Right‑click the audio device and select Uninstall device.
      4. Confirm the uninstall.
      5. Restart the PC; Windows will automatically reinstall the audio driver.
    4. Get the latest driver from the PC/device manufacturer
      1. Go to the PC manufacturer’s support website.
      2. Search for the exact PC or motherboard model.
      3. Download the latest Windows 10 audio driver for that model.
      4. Run the downloaded installer and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
      5. Restart the PC.

If sound problems persist after installing or reinstalling the drivers, follow the additional steps in Fix sound or audio problems in Windows, including rolling back the driver or restoring from a system restore point if the issue started after an update.
