I have 3 mysterious charges for $7.20 on my credit card; one dated 3/31; two dated 04/01. How do I find out what they are for?

    Hi,

I understand how concerning it can be to see unfamiliar charges on your card, and I’m glad you reached out. Let’s go through a few steps to help you identify them.

First, please sign in to all your Microsoft accounts and check your subscriptions and billing history here:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sometimes charges appear if a subscription is linked to a different Microsoft account. It’s also worth checking with any family members who may have used your card for purchases or subscriptions in the past.

You can also follow this official guide for more details on how to trace the charge:

“How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft”

If you locate the source of the charge and would like to stop it, you can use this guide to cancel the subscription:

If the charges still can’t be identified or you need further help, the best next step is to contact Microsoft Billing Support directly as this request involves personal or sensitive information that should not be shared in a public forum.

    Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'.

Type "Chat with an agent" from the text field and press Enter.

Click "Contact support" at the bottom.

Select the product you need help with.

Follow the prompts to connect with a live agent or request a call back.

Use the Microsoft billing tools to identify the charges, then work with Microsoft or the bank if they’re unauthorized.

    1. Check Microsoft order history
      1. Go to the order history page: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders.
      2. Sign in with any Microsoft account that might be associated with the card.
      3. Select Payment & billing > Order history.
      4. Under Refine, set the date range to include 3/31 and 4/01.
      5. Look for charges that match $7.20 with status Completed or Redeemed.
      6. Select Order details on any matching item to see what the charge was for; use Print if an invoice copy is needed.
    2. Investigate unknown Microsoft charges If nothing appears in your order history, or the charges don’t match what was purchased, use Microsoft’s billing investigation guidance to identify the charge and what account/subscription it belongs to:
      • See How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft (linked in the context) for step‑by‑step identification and next actions.
    3. Cancel or refund any unwanted subscription Once the charge is identified:
      • If it’s a Microsoft 365/Office or other Microsoft subscription you don’t want, sign in to the corresponding Microsoft account and cancel it following the subscription cancellation/refund guidance referenced in the context.
    4. If the charges are fraudulent
      • If the card is being used on an account that is not recognized, contact Microsoft Support for billing (as shown in the Q&A references) with the transaction details so they can locate and stop the related subscription.
      • If Microsoft and account checks do not reveal the source, contact the bank/credit card issuer to dispute the charges and request the card be blocked and replaced to prevent further misuse.
