What Outlook desktop version are you using? (New Outlook for Windows, Classic Outlook for Windows, New Outlook for Mac or Legacy Outlook for Mac)
For example, in New Outlook and Classic Outlook for Windows, there is a feature where you can disable reminder for past events.
