In the meantime, you can try the workaround steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Option 1: Restart the Windows Update services
- Press Windows + R, type
services.msc, and press Enter - Restart Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer Service
- Close the window and try Windows Update again
Option 2: Run the Windows Update troubleshooter
- Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot
- Select Other troubleshooters
- Run Windows Update
Option 3: Reset Windows Update components
- Open Command Prompt as administrator from the Start menu
- Run the following commands one by one:

net stop wuauserv -
net stop bits -
net stop cryptsvc - Restart the PC and check for updates again
