Windows notifications turn off without being commanded

Several days ago my Windows notification chimes and banners quit working for some reason. I toggled the notifications on / off tab a couple of times and they worked for the rest of the day. The next day they were off again. I toggled the notifications on / off again and they came on and stayed on the whole day. The following day they had turned off again but when I toggled the notification on / off tab they did not come back on. I restarted the PC and they were working again for the remainder of the day. The next day they weren't working again and I restarted but this time they only worked for a couple of hours. The last 2 days the same thing happens but they will only work about an hour. The PC has an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11500T 1.50 GHz processor and I'm running Windows 11 Pro. Please help!

    Hi, good day!

That’s really frustrating especially since it keeps coming back after you fix it. From what you described, this doesn’t sound like user error. In Windows 11, notifications turning off like that is usually caused by something overriding your settings.

Please try to Turn Focus Assist completely off

Open Settings > System > Focus Assist > set it to Off and review automatic rules

I look forward to your update and am happy to continue working with you until the issue is resolved. If you find the answer helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and consider upvoting it. Otherwise, please keep me posted by clicking "Add comment" below instead of selecting Yes or No.
