    Hi Loyal Joshua,

In addition to the steps already shared above by Q&A Assist, I’d suggest checking a few additional areas that can specifically help with the connection delay behavior you’re seeing:

    • On your Windows PC, try repairing or resetting the Phone Link app (Settings > Apps > Phone Link >Advanced options). This can help if the app became inconsistent after the recent update.
    • If you are using any VPN or third-party security software, try temporarily disabling it to see if the connection improves, as these can sometimes interfere with device communication. *Disclaimer: Temporarily turn off antivirus protection. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn it on immediately once issue fixed.
    • Also, if you happen to use Samsung DeX, try closing it while testing, as running both at the same time can impact Phone Link connectivity.
    • As a quick isolation step, you might also try connecting both devices to a different Wi‑Fi network or mobile hotspot to rule out any network-related restrictions.

I hope these additional steps help get things working smoothly again. Please feel free to share your results or let me know if you need further assistance. I’ll be glad to assist further.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot Phone Link after the recent update with a Samsung/Android device:

    1. Confirm both apps are updated
    • On Android (Link to Windows):
      1. Open Link to Windows.
      2. Go to Settings > About Link to Windows.
      3. Select Check for updates and install any available update.
    • On Windows (Phone Link):
      1. Open Phone Link.
      2. Go to Settings > General.
      3. Expand Phone Link version and select Check for updates and install any available update.
    1. Fix intermittent or delayed connection/sync
    • Make sure both devices are powered on and connected to the Internet.
    • Turn Battery saver off on the Android device, as it can interfere with notifications and background connectivity for Link to Windows.
    • For best performance, connect both PC and phone to the same trusted (private) Wi‑Fi network rather than a public network such as a café, hotel, or airport.
    1. If devices are on the same Wi‑Fi but won’t connect
    • Check the router for Wireless isolation / AP Isolation:
      1. Open the router’s admin page.
      2. Go to Wireless > Advanced Wireless Setting (wording may vary).
      3. Disable or untoggle AP Isolation or Wireless Isolation so devices on the same Wi‑Fi can communicate.
    1. Reconnect when Phone Link can’t find the device or asks for QR code
    • Ensure both apps are on the latest version (step 1), then:
      1. On the PC, open Phone Link and follow the prompt to Scan the QR code to reconnect.
      2. On the phone, open the Camera app and scan the QR code shown in Phone Link.
      3. When Link to Windows opens, follow the prompts on both phone and PC and sign in with the same Microsoft account.
      4. In Phone Link, use the Refresh button next to the connection status indicator to manually re‑establish the connection if needed.
    1. If Phone Link used to work and now never connects
    • On Android:
      1. Open Link to Windows.
      2. Under Linked account, tap the Microsoft account.
      3. Go to Account settings > Sign out and unlink account.
      4. Confirm Unlink.
    • On Windows:
      1. Open Phone Link.
      2. Go to Settings > Devices.
      3. Select Add new device and follow the on‑screen pairing steps.
    • If the issue persists, close and restart Phone Link on the PC and try pairing again.
    1. If content still does not sync
    • In Phone Link on Windows: Settings > About > Check for updates and install any pending updates.
    • In Link to Windows on Android: Settings > Check for updates (or Details > … (More) > About Link to Windows).
    • Ensure both devices stay online and awake while testing.

If, after all of the above, Phone Link still fails consistently after this specific update, a Windows repair install has resolved similar persistent Phone Link issues for other users when all app‑level troubleshooting failed.
