Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Since this situation appears to be related to sign in behavior on macOS, I would like to suggest clearing the cached credentials before trying to sign in again.
1/ Please completely quit all Microsoft Office applications, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
2/ Open Finder and navigate to the following path: ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/
Then delete the folder named Identity or Identities, if it exists.
3/ Open Keychain Access. In the search box, look for the following keywords and remove all related entries you find:
- Microsoft Office
- ADAL
- MSOID
4/ Restart your Mac. Once the system starts up again, open any Office application and sign in using your work account.
Alternatively, you can try resetting the cached credentials through Terminal.
Please make sure all Office apps are fully closed first. Press Command + Space to open Spotlight, search for Terminal, then run the command below and press Enter:
defaults write com.microsoft.Word ResetOneAuthCreds -bool YES
After running the command, open Outlook for MAC or another Office app and sign in again with your work account.
As a final step, if the sign in behavior continues, you may consider creating a new macOS user account and checking whether the same situation occurs in the new user environment.
To help us better understand your setup, could you please share the following information when convenient?
- Could you access Outlook on the web by signing in at https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/mail/ using any browser on your device?
- Are you using a Microsoft 365 subscription license or a one-time purchase license?
I hope these steps provide helpful guidance. If you have any updates or further questions, please feel free to let us know, and we will be glad to continue assisting you.
