I uploaded my files and photos to OneDrive. But when I click on the photo and then on the gallery, it always says something is wrong with the connection. When I click Files, my photos are there. So did I do something wrong?

    Good day JING SHI!

Based on what you described, your photos were uploaded to OneDrive and can still be seen under Files, but when you try to view them through the Photos/Gallery section, you receive a “something went wrong with the connection” message instead.

First, please check the Service Health Status, in case there is a temporary OneDrive service issue affecting your region.

You could also try signing out of OneDrive on the web and then signing back in, opening OneDrive in an InPrivate/Incognito window or in a different browser, and temporarily disabling any VPN or proxy if you are using one. If needed, you can also temporarily turn off browser extensions, as they can sometimes affect how websites load.

Please let me know how it goes after trying these basic checks. I'm here if you need further support!

The photos are uploaded correctly if they appear under Files in OneDrive. The error shown when opening Photos → Gallery is a separate viewing feature and does not affect whether the files are stored in OneDrive.

To confirm that the photos are really in OneDrive and can be viewed:

    1. Open OneDrive in a browser and sign in.
    2. Go to My filesPictures (or the folder where the photos were uploaded) and open a photo from there.
    3. Optionally, switch to the Photos view in OneDrive online to browse them as a gallery.

If the gallery view in the Photos area still shows a connection error, use the Files view as the reliable place to verify uploads and open photos. The upload itself is correct as long as the photos are visible there.

To check any other devices (PC, mobile) and see the same photos, sign in with the same account and verify under Files as described in the OneDrive guidance below.
