Try this command in admin Windows PowerShell to re-register Microsoft Store package:

    Get-AppXPackage WindowsStore -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Problems with Windows Update and the Microsoft Store are usually linked. In many cases, fixing one will automatically resolve issues with the other, since they share underlying system components and services.

Therefore, I suggest focusing on procedures to fix what is preventing Windows Update from working.

To better understand the problem, please clarify the following:

Are you getting an error code in Windows Update? If yes, which one?

If it is a specific update, let me know the KB number of the update displaying the error.

If you don't get an error code, see the update history.

    • Press "Windows + I" and select "Windows Update > Update history".

If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Also. What is the current "OS Build" of your Windows 11?

    • Press "Windows + R", type winver, and click OK.

If you prefer, share a screenshot.

Be sure to censor your email address if it appears. The Microsoft Q&A is public.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Try these steps in order on Windows 11 to get Microsoft Store opening again and allow updates to work:

    1. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
      • Press Windows logo key + R to open Run.
      • Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
      • A blank Command Prompt window opens; after about 10–30 seconds it closes and Microsoft Store should open automatically.
    2. Make sure Windows is fully updated
      • Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • If updates are found, select Install now, then restart the PC and try opening Microsoft Store again.
    3. Check time, date, and region
      • Go to Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
      • Turn on Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.
      • Also verify region under Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
    4. Repair or reset the Microsoft Store app
      • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Find Microsoft Store, select the three dots (…) > Advanced options.
      • First select Repair and test.
      • If it still does not open, go back and select Reset and test again.
    5. If Store still won’t open after these steps
      • Verify that Microsoft Store is present and not disabled:
        • Select Start and type Microsoft Store. If it appears, try opening it and then Pin to Start so it’s easy to find.
        • If it does not appear in search and this is a work or school device, contact the administrator because Microsoft Store might have been turned off by policy.

If none of the above works and Windows Update also fails, the system may be significantly corrupted and may require more advanced repair (such as an in-place repair upgrade) beyond these standard Store troubleshooting steps.
