Excel paper sizes

Hello all in excel I want to change my paper size to a5 but it’s only showing a4 and letter sizes how do change to come up with list of sizes

This happens because Excel only shows paper sizes supported by the selected printer, not all possible sizes. If A5 isn’t listed, the printer isn’t offering it.

You can try this:

• Go to File > Print and switch to another printer (for example, a PDF printer), then check the size list again
• If still missing, add A5 in your printer settings:
  • Settings > Printers & scanners > your printer > Manage > Printing preferences
  • Create a custom size: 148 × 210 mm (A5)

After that, reopen Excel and check again.

Note: Excel itself can’t add paper sizes, it relies on what the printer provides.

In Excel, the available paper sizes come from the selected printer driver. If only A4 and Letter are shown, the current printer does not advertise A5 support to Excel.

To get A5 (or a longer list of sizes) to appear:

1. In Windows, set a printer that supports A5 as the default printer (or install such a printer/driver, including PDF printers that offer A5).
2. Reopen Excel and go to the print settings or Page Setup for the worksheet.
3. Open the Paper size drop-down again; Excel will now list the sizes supported by the active printer, including A5 if the printer driver provides it.

If the printer driver does not support A5, Excel cannot list or use A5 for printing with that printer.
