Microsoft 365 and GoDaddy problem

In May 2022 GoDaddy closed down the POP/IMAP servers and insisted on moving over to MS 365 as the email server. There was no charges etc involved as far as I know. I managed to get my desktop Outlook working by following the instructions provided.

Now I am moving to a new PC and want to install desktop versions of Word, Excel, Outlook etc same as before.

While setting up the new PC I received a recommendation suggesting Microsoft 365, and took up the offer and the paid subscription.

At no time was GoDaddy mentioned.

However, now every time I try to do anything with Microsoft 365 like install the desktop apps I get re-directed to GoDaddy which is apparently my administrator, and does not seem to know I have paid the subscription. I cannot install the desktop versions because I don't have the right account type and I need to contact my administrator, and I constantly keep getting redirected to GoDaddy.

How did GoDaddy in this position? How can I get out of it? Why did Microsoft take my money? Where did my money go? How can I get my new PC up and running with this kind of stuff going on?

    Hello Peter S,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am a Microsoft user just like you, I hope you are doing well?

Sorry for the inconvenience; have you confirmed that your Microsoft 365 subscription is not with Microsoft?

You need to find where your subscription is managed, Microsoft or Godaddy. Contact both to find out, check your emails for notifications.

If your subscription is managed by Microsoft then you can install from your Microsoft account (www.office.com) but if your subscription is managed by GoDaddy, you need to contact GoDaddy.

Check your Microsoft account services and subscription page: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Please let me know if you need more assistance.
