Hello Microsoft,

I'm currently a student of [Moderator note: personal info removed] in the Executive MBA program. I graduate 06/02/2026. I have an unofficial student transcript and class schedule I could provide to help verify student status. Nonetheless, I'm interested in the PL-300 exam yet wanted to find out how to qualify for the student discount?

In my profile, I completed the interest survey for student yet I am unsure if this unlocks the student discount pricing?

Upon request, I am able to provide more information if necessary via secure email.

To qualify for and activate the student discount for the PL-300 exam, the required step is to identify as a student and complete academic verification in the Microsoft Learn profile. Completing the Interest Survey and selecting “Student” is part of that process, but the discount is only applied once academic status is verified and recognized in the certification profile.

    Process summary:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile.
    2. Begin and complete the Interest Survey, selecting “Career Paths” → “Student.”
    3. Ensure academic status is verified in the certification profile as described under Student discounts.
    4. After verification, when registering for PL-300 (via “Schedule exam”), the student discount pricing will automatically appear during checkout with Pearson VUE if available in the country/region.

    Important details from the policy:

    • Academic pricing on Microsoft Certification exams is offered in most countries/regions (except India and China).
    • Academic verification is valid for 12 months; after that, the verification process must be repeated.
    • If an exam is registered and paid before verification is completed, commercial pricing applies and no refund is given later, even if verification is completed afterward.

If the discount does not appear at checkout after verification, or if there are questions about the verification status, contact Credentials Support for assistance with the academic verification process and discount application.
