Hello Admin,
This error usually occurs when the edition of Windows installed does not match the license key provided. Since you received Windows 11 Pro N keys, you must ensure that the ISO you downloaded and installed is specifically the “Windows 11 Pro N” edition, not the standard “Windows 11 Pro.” The “N” editions are separate SKUs without media features, and keys are not interchangeable. You can confirm the installed edition by running winver or checking under Settings → System → About → Windows specifications. If the installed edition is not “Windows 11 Pro N,” the activation will fail with the invalid key error.
If you did install the correct edition and the keys are still rejected, verify that the keys are genuine Volume License or Retail keys from Microsoft’s admin center. Sometimes donation programs provide MAK keys that require activation against Microsoft’s servers, and if the wrong ISO is used, the key will not validate. In that case, re-download the correct “Windows 11 Pro N” ISO from the Volume Licensing Service Center or Microsoft 365 Admin portal, reinstall, and then apply the key.
If you are certain the edition matches and the keys are still invalid, the issue may be with the donation program’s key batch. In that case, you should open a support ticket directly with Microsoft Nonprofit Support through your admin center so they can reissue or validate the keys.
