Microsoft account balances and gift cards are region-locked and non-transferable across regions, so a Microsoft account in the US cannot directly fund a purchase for a Microsoft account registered in Brazil.
From the Microsoft gift card terms:
- Gift card currency can only be redeemed to a Microsoft account registered in a country/region that uses that same currency, and then only used in Participating Stores for that same country/region. The balance cannot be converted to another currency.
- Microsoft account balance is non-transferable to another person or Microsoft account.
This means:
- A US-purchased Microsoft gift card (USD) can only be redeemed to a Microsoft account registered in a USD-supported region and used in that region’s Microsoft Store/Xbox/Minecraft storefront.
- It cannot be redeemed or used on a Brazilian (BRL) Microsoft account or Brazilian storefront.
To legitimately buy Minecraft for someone in Brazil through Microsoft’s ecosystem, that person (or someone in Brazil) must purchase using a payment method and store region that matches Brazil. There is no supported way for a US-based account to purchase region-locked Windows/Microsoft Store content for a different region via Microsoft gift cards or account balance.
