Hi,

I cancelled my personal microsoft account and upgraded to Microsoft business. when I cancelled my Personal account it had a Microsoft Office 365 Family subscription, which I thought would cancel also, however I just received an email to say my 365 Family subscription has been renewed until 12th May 2027 for $179 Dollars

Because the personal account has been cancelled, I am no longer able to access my personal account to cancel the 365 Family subscription. I'd like the subscription cancelled and the payment refunded

The order number is Order Number: 50ff0d01-7d7f-4061-9c2e-f3f5ffef81f1

Thanks

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and I understand that you still got charged for the Microsoft 365 Family even if you have upgraded to Microsoft Business.

If your account is already in use with the current subscription under Microsoft Business, you may try the two options below to request for a refund since you have switched from a personal to a business account.

    • You can reach out to the support team at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ and then click on Microsoft 365 and then click Get Home Support and then type in Billing question and click the blue button that says Sign in to contact Support and login and proceed from there or you can also request a call back by going to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2168171 in case you are having trouble cancelling and getting a refund.
    • Request a refund from the bank and check if they will be able to reverse the charge against that was made from the card or payment method that you have on your account.
