Dear Microsoft Billing and Tax Support Team,

I am writing to request a Certification of Tax Residence for the Tax Year 2026 for the Microsoft entity that issues invoices for my account.

This document is required by my local tax authorities to apply the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and to justify the application of reduced withholding tax rates (or exemption) on payments made to Microsoft.

A digital PDF copy of the certificate would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your cooperation and prompt response.

Best regards,

To request a Certification of Tax Residence for the Microsoft entity that invoices the account, contact Microsoft support rather than sending a direct email request.

For Microsoft 365 for business billing, start by opening a service/support request from the appropriate portal (for example, Microsoft 365 admin center or Partner Center, depending on the role and relationship). In the request, specify that a Certificate/Certification of Tax Residence is required for the relevant tax year and for the Microsoft entity that issues the invoices.

If acting as a partner and setting Microsoft up as a vendor in an Accounts Payable system, commonly used Certificates of Tax Residency and related tax forms for Microsoft entities (for example, Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) are published and can be downloaded directly. Use the appropriate document for the region and year, such as the “Certification of Tax Residence” for Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, from the available list under “Set up common tax forms.”

If the required tax residence certificate for the specific year or entity is not available in the public list, submit an official support ticket (billing/support request) so a Microsoft billing engineer can provide the document through a secure channel.
