Hello,

We are currently experiencing a moderetly widespread issue where the Microsoft Teams and Outlook (Windows desktop applications) are intermittently locking up and becoming unresponsive.

This behavior is occurring on the same machines, but appears random and not tied to any specific action or workflow.

So far, we have attempted the following troubleshooting steps without success:

  • Office/Teams repair and full reinstall
  • Updating all system drivers, including GPU drivers
  • Adjusting application and system graphics settings (hardware acceleration, etc.)
  • Switching Outlook back to the Classic version
  • Applying latest Windows and Office updates

However, we have made no progress on fixing this problem.

At this time, six users within our organization are affected.

What can the be the root cause for this issue?

We are seeing the same issue Outlook and or teams freezing.

to unfreeze it helps to restart the "Windows Push Notifications User Service_ "

this is of course only symptom resolution. till now we can not find what is the source of the issue.

    Hi @Zimmerman, Kyle,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To better assist you, could you please provide me with the following information:

    • Is the user able to use Teams and Outlook normally on the web version?

Step 3: Delete all files in this folder

    Step 4: Reopen Teams

At the same time, there is currently a known issue related to Teams:

Users whose alias contains non-ANSI characters may be unable to launch the Microsoft Teams desktop application.

You can refer to this issue in the Admin Center using ID: TM1311440.

Please check whether the affected user has non-ANSI characters in their alias.
