I have an android 'phone and can't see my junk mail

I do not get my junk mail on my 'phone and there is something which has gone into junk on my laptop which I need to click on on my phone but it is not there.

How do I allow junk on my 'phone? It just is nowhere to be seen and I don't know how to allow it as there is no folder or button which says "junk mail".

Thanks.

    Hi glynn burrows

I understand how inconvenient this is when you need to access a message that’s in Junk on your laptop but not visible on your phone.

Have you tried the Q&A Assist steps yet? If so, did it match what you see on your phone?

Also, could you please confirm: On your phone, when you open the folder list, do you see any folders at all under your account, or is the list limited?

    Please try the following:

1, Confirm it's the same account as your laptop

Since you can see the message on your laptop:

    • Double-check that the same email account is added in the Outlook app
    • If you have multiple accounts, make sure you’re viewing the correct one

    2, Check on Outlook.com

    • Sign in directly to Outlook.com via a browser on your phone
    • Go to your mailbox and check the Junk Email folder

3, Reset the account inside the Outlook app

    • Open the Outlook app on your phone
    • Tap your profile picture (top left) > tap the Settings (gear icon) at the bottom
    • Under Accounts, tap your account > scroll down > Reset account

4, Remove and re-add the account

    • In the same place, tap Remove account
    • Close the app completely, then reopen Outlook.
    • Tap Add account, and sign in with your account

    5, Clear App cache

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Outlook > Storage & cache
    • Tap Clear storage and Clear cache.
    • Reopen Outlook and sign in again

Please feel free to let me know how it goes. Thank you for your time and understanding.

On Outlook for Android, the Junk Email folder is just another mail folder and does not show as “junk mail” on the home screen. To see and open it:

    1. Open the Outlook app on the Android phone.
    2. From the main mail view, tap the account icon (three horizontal lines) at the top left.
    3. In the list that opens, tap the drop-down arrow next to the email account to expand all folders.
    4. Look for a folder named Junk, Junk Email, or similar in that list and tap it to open.
    5. Find the message needed and open it or tap any links from there.

If the message is not in Junk on the phone but is in Junk on the laptop, ensure the same account and same mailbox are configured in Outlook for Android, then refresh the folder list and Junk folder.

If using Outlook.com in a browser instead of the app, also check the Junk Email folder there and mark the message as Not junk so future messages from that sender go to the Inbox instead.
