    Hello Diego Lopez,

A 404 on the step of press-and-hold "prove you're human" captcha usually means the captcha page or its assets aren't loading at all (rather than your hold attempt being rejected). That points to something at the network or browser level blocking the captcha host.

A few things worth trying in this rough order:

    • Easiest bypass: create the Microsoft account on a different device (a phone or PC on a different network), then just sign in to that account on your brother's Galaxy Tab. The captcha only fires during account creation, not sign-in.
    • If you want to keep trying on the tablet itself, switch to a different browser, specifically Firefox private/incognito window.
    • Try a different network entirely — switch the tablet to mobile hotspot off a phone. If the 404 disappears on hotspot, your home Wi-Fi (router, ISP DNS, or parental controls) is filtering the captcha host.
    • Turn off any ad blocker, content blocker, VPN, or "private DNS" setting on the tablet (Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Private DNS).
    • After too many failed attempts the system can temporarily block your IP/device, so if you've been retrying for a while, give it a few hours before the next attempt.

The 404 error on the “Let’s prove you’re human – hold the button” step is typically caused by something in the browser blocking or breaking that verification page.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Disable ad blockers and privacy extensions
      • Turn off any ad blocker, tracking blocker, VPN extension, or security/privacy add‑on in Microsoft Edge (and any other browser being used).
      • After disabling them, close all browser windows and reopen Edge, then try the “prove you’re human” step again.
    2. Use InPrivate / Incognito mode
      • In Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + N to open an InPrivate window.
      • Go to the Outlook/Microsoft sign‑up page again and try the verification.
      • InPrivate mode runs with extensions disabled by default, which helps confirm if an extension is the cause.
    3. Clear browser cache and cookies
      • In Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
      • Select cached images/files and cookies/site data, then clear.
      • Close and reopen Edge and try again.
    4. Try a different network
      • Connect the Galaxy Tab (and any other device being used) to a different Wi‑Fi network or mobile hotspot.
      • Then retry the verification page.
    5. If still blocked
      • Wait several hours and avoid repeated attempts, as too many retries can trigger additional protection and temporary blocks.

A similar “hold the button” verification issue was resolved by temporarily disabling an ad blocker; once the blocker was turned off, the verification worked normally.
