Badges for Microsoft certifications are not manually added to a Microsoft Learn account; they are issued and associated automatically based on the email identity used for the exam and for the badging platform.
To ensure the AZ-900 badge appears with the correct Learn profile and can be shared:
- Confirm the correct Learn profile and logins
- Sign in to Microsoft Learn and open the profile menu (top-right) → Profile.
- Go to Credentials → Certifications and verify that the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification is listed.
- If the exam was taken with a different work/school or personal account, add that login to the same Learn profile so achievements consolidate:
- Select the profile icon → Settings.
- Under Account Management, select Add login account.
- Sign in with the other account used for the exam or badge.
- If that account already has a separate Learn profile, a Profile Merge will be triggered; this combines learning progress, credentials, and transcripts into one profile (cannot be undone).
- Ensure the badge-issuing email matches a login on the Learn profile
- Certification badges are issued via Credly/Acclaim to the email address Microsoft has on file.
- Make sure that email address is one of the login accounts on the Learn profile (added as above). This allows the certification and its badge to be associated with the same identity.
- Share the certification from the Learn profile
- Once the certification appears under Credentials → Certifications:
- Select View certification details under the AZ-900 certification.
- Use the Share option on the certification details page to share validated credential details (for example, to LinkedIn or other channels). This is how the certification is exposed from the Learn profile rather than manually attaching an external badge file.
- Once the certification appears under Credentials → Certifications:
If the AZ-900 certification does not appear after 24–48 hours or is on a different profile, use profile linking/merging as above so that the certification and badge are tied to a single Learn profile.
