HLK Studio: Making test logs for Minidriver client machine

Hello everyone! We are checking a new vendor smartcard for the Windows Minidriver program. Right now, one testing machine finished all steps successfully. My problem is getting the final log package for this specific machine using HLK Studio. Do I need to put the HLK Studio software directly onto this test PC to make the file? Please advise.

No, you typically do not need to install the full HLK Studio on the client test machine.

In most HLK setups:

The test machine only needs the HLK Client installed.

HLK Studio usually runs on the controller machine/server.

Test logs and result packages are collected through the HLK Controller after the tests complete.

To generate the final package for the Minidriver certification:

Open HLK Studio on the controller machine.

Locate the completed job/test results for the specific client machine.

Right-click the project or completed tests.

Choose options like:

“Create Package”

“Create Submission Package” or “Export Results” (depending on HLK version). HLK Studio will gather the logs automatically from the client.

You normally only install HLK Studio on another machine if you specifically want to manage/controller-view results from there.

Also make sure:

The client machine is still connected/reachable.

All test jobs show “Passed” or “Completed.”

No logs are still pending upload from the client.

Hi Harry J,

You must execute HLK Studio directly on the dedicated HLK Controller server or from an authenticated remote management computer connected to the same domain. Once you open the console and load your designated smartcard minidriver project, you must navigate to the Package tab within the main user interface. This workspace allows you to formally merge the raw logs with your driver binaries, driver catalogs, and symbols before compilation. Selecting the Create Package command instructs the controller to package these components into a single, encrypted, and structurally verified .hlkx file container.
