In the past several weeks emails sent to [Moderator note: PII removed] @outlook.com have not been coming to that account. It appears that some other email address is receiving them but I am not familiar with that email address. Would it be possible for me to talk to a person on how to get this fixed?I am missing important emails. Thank you. Sam

    Hi Samuel Hook

I understand your issue, emails sent to your Outlook.com account are not arriving, and you’re concerned they may be going to another address. Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions? In addition, please try the following:

1, Check if email forwarding is enabled

If your account was compromised, forwarding might have been set up to send your emails elsewhere:

    • In Outlook.com, go to Settings > Mail > Forwarding
    • Make sure “Enable forwarding” is OFF
    • If you see an unfamiliar email address there, remove it immediately

    2, Check your account aliases

Sometimes emails appear to go elsewhere if an alias was added:

3, Check blocked senders and junk settings

    Emails might be silently rejected:

    • Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email
    • Check Blocked senders and domains
    • Remove any entries that should not be blocked

    4, Check mailbox storage

If your mailbox is full, new emails may not arrive:

    • Go to Settings > Account > Storage
    • Clear space if needed by deleting or moving emails

If you suspect the account was compromised, please also secure your account right away:

About speaking with a support agent, you can contact a live agent. Since this is an Outlook.com account, please follow these steps:

    • Go to Contact Us - Microsoft Support
    • Select the product or service you're having issue with.
    • Click Get Home Support
    • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box.
    • Click Get Help and select Contact Support below.
    • Go to the Products and services tab and choose the appropriate product.
    • On the Category tab, choose the appropriate category or an alternative option.
    • Go to Confirm.
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) if available. Explain your situation clearly.

Please kindly note that this is a public user-to-user forum, I do not have the ability, tools to unblock, recover accounts or bypass security. Only Microsoft’s official recovery process can restore access.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot missing email in the Outlook.com account and then contact support via live chat:

    1. Check filters and views
      • Sign in to Outlook.com.
      • At the top of the message list, select Filter and make sure All is selected so no messages are hidden by filtering.
    2. Check rules that might be moving mail
      • Go to Outlook.com Rules settings (Inbox rules / Sweep rules).
      • Look for any rule that moves, deletes, or redirects messages (for example, to another folder or RSS feed).
      • Edit or delete any rule that is incorrectly moving messages out of the Inbox.
    3. Check the Archive folder
      • In the folder list, open the Archive folder and look for missing messages.
      • If messages are there, select the message, then choose Move to > Inbox to restore it.
    4. Check for unusual sign-in activity
      • If there is concern the account is compromised or mail is being redirected, go to the Recent activity page for the Microsoft account to review sign-ins and devices for the last 30 days.
      • Follow the guidance there to secure a potentially compromised account.
    5. Contact Outlook.com support (chat with a person)
      • Sign in to Outlook.com in a browser.
      • Select Help on the menu bar.
      • In the Help pane, type the issue (for example, “Missing email” or “Account compromised”).
      • If self-help articles do not resolve the problem, scroll down to Still need help? and select Yes.
      • Choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser to talk to a live agent about restoring mail delivery and checking for misdirected messages.

If sign-in is not possible, use the alternate support entry point for Outlook.com given in the references to reach support.
