The free trial is stopping my purchase of MS 365 Family to be redeemed. How can I fix this or how can I get rid of the free trial for a month?

Are you able to cancel the free trial of Microsoft 365 using the steps provided on this link.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/cancel-a-microsoft-365-subscription-46e2634c-c64b-4c65-94b9-2cc9c960e91b

Then, where did you purchase the Microsoft 365 Family subscription, if you purchased that from a 3rd party retailer, were you provided with a product key, and if so, if you log into this link and enter your product key, is it accepted to start the new subscription.

Cancel or let the free trial expire, then redeem the Microsoft 365 Family purchase.

    Use one of these approaches:

    1. Turn off recurring billing / cancel the trial
    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for the trial.
    • Under Services & subscriptions, find the Microsoft 365 trial.
    • If there is a Cancel link, select Cancel and follow the prompts. This stops future charges and lets the trial end.
    • If there is no Cancel link and you see Paid with: None or Turn on recurring billing, the trial will automatically expire on the Expires on date and no further action is required.
    • After the trial is cancelled or expires, redeem the Microsoft 365 Family purchase.
    1. If the trial is already expired but still blocking activation
    • After the trial ends, Office may show as Unlicensed Product and run in View Only mode.
    • Sign in again with the account that has the purchased Microsoft 365 Family subscription and activate, or uninstall the trial Office and reinstall using the purchased subscription.

If the subscription was started or managed through a mobile app store (for example, iOS), manage or cancel that subscription in the store’s subscription settings, then redeem the Microsoft 365 Family purchase with the Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
