Microsoft Planner Doubt - Not able to add that in new outlook

Hi Team,
I am not sure if this is mine issue or Microsoft doesn't allow it. I was trying to add planner on my new outlook as an app so I can easily work with outlook and planner but when I try adding app, I don't see planner there. I only see Planner(Frontier) but I don't think that's the right one. Even when I try adding Frontier, it says open but cant see it.

I tried doing same thing on teams but it works there and I can see planner on the apps section.

Can anyone please explain this.

    Dear @Rajesh Bhandari,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing those screenshots. I completely understand how frustrating it is when a workflow that works perfectly in Microsoft Teams doesn't behave the same way in the new Outlook. It is completely reasonable to expect these apps to connect seamlessly, and I want to assure you that there is nothing wrong with your account or your setup. You are hitting a temporary product design limitation.

    • Currently, the new Outlook for Windows and Web do not support the standalone Planner app in the left-hand navigation bar. The official documentation explicitly states that Planner operates as a standalone web experience or as an integrated app specifically within Microsoft Teams. There is no mention of a native sidebar app for Outlook: Get started with Microsoft Planner | Microsoft Support
    • What is "Planner (Frontier)": You are not doing anything wrong by trying to open this. "Frontier" refers to the new, integrated Planner/Project experience. While the name appears in the search menu as Microsoft develops the feature, its functionality within Outlook is still restricted, which is why it fails to open for you.

Since it works perfectly in Teams, please continue using that for your deep project management. If you require the full grid/board view of Planner alongside your email, the best approach is to open Planner in your web browser (tasks.office.com). However, if you need quick access while working inside Outlook, here are the two best workarounds:

    1. The "To Do" Side-Panel: Click the Checkmark icon (To Do) on your far-left Outlook navigation bar. Under the "Assigned to me" section, every single task assigned to you across all your various Microsoft Planners will automatically show up there in real-time.

    2. The M365 App Launcher: Click the App Launcher. More apps > All apps > find Planner app and right click. From there, you can open Planner to access your full boards in a web browser.

Currently, the new Outlook does not offer a native setting to pin or use the full Planner task boards within the email interface. This integration is still in development, but I recognize that having it unified would greatly benefit your workflow.
