Try the following steps in order. After each step, test whether Settings > System > Power & battery opens.
- Open Power & battery from a direct link
- Press Windows key + R.
- Paste this and press Enter:
-
ms-settings:batterysaver?activationSource=SMC-IA-4027667
-
- This should open the Power & battery page directly. If this works, use it once to adjust settings; the normal Settings navigation may start working again afterward.
- Use the Get Help guided walkthrough for power settings
- Open a browser and sign in to Windows if needed.
- Use the Guided walkthrough in Get Help for power and battery settings: it can diagnose common issues with the Power & battery page and suggest fixes.
- Check power settings via alternative UI
- Open Control Panel.
- Go to Power Options.
- Use Change plan settings and Change advanced power settings to adjust screen, sleep, and battery-related options while the Settings page is not opening.
If none of these steps allow access to Power & battery, further OS repair or reset steps outside the provided guidance may be required.
