OneDrive Blocking internet access

Hello, I have an issue when OneDrive is updating I cannot open a new tab / access a new URL.

I have recently been recording short 5 to 8 minute tutorials for a user group I am in. I save them as mp4 files on my machine.
They are a complete video file with audio and with the a copy of the original on the machine while I am working on it.

I accumulate many GIG'S quickly until I can delete the original when I am done. I also transfer the new file to a external hard drive when finished.
So I really don't need them going to the cloud. I have to pause OneDrive in order to open any tab in any browser. Edge / Chrome or Fox is doesn't matter.

As soon as I un-pause it it starts updating and locks me out. It is VERY frustrating and is their a way to exclude the folder the videos are saved to.
Instead of pausing it and waiting till I take a nap for 4 hours and leave the machine on so it can sync.

Any info welcome and thanks for your time

    Hi @budski82 ,
    Welcome to Q&A forum!

I whtched the video and I very understand your confusion about this issue. Please check the following tips before troubleshotting this issue.

If there is no problem with the above, I would suggest you try the following steps to check this issue. Besides, if a firewall or security software is enabled on your PC, please turn it off temporarily.

    1. First, please check whether it is consuming all the bandwidth through the Task Manager when using OneDrive. We can try setting the bandwidth limit to OneDrive: go to OneDrive>Settings and under Network, set the speed as you want to see the outcome.

Thanks for your time and I figured out what was going on. Three day prior to this mess happening I installed the latest issued Microsoft update packages.

It added things to my taskbar that I HAD TURNED OFF. It is now flashing ads and dialogs in the address bar suggestions when the URL loads.

This is when I searched my directory and found they must have moved folders on me. As the software for the screen captures and video recording path was now in One Drive. I know they changed it because I never allocated it to that path.

It is also very stupid to upload so much data at one time by default that is STOP the machine from functioning. If this is what Windows 11 is turning into an ad based subscription OS, Linux here I come.

I already run it as a sub-system time to go all the way.

It is fixed and and the path is corrected. I will be forced to check this shit every update now ??

I can open a browser when I want not when Windows lets me.
