I need a phone number so I can speak to a human

I bought a new laptop that had 365 installed. I purchased 365 online and don't know the product key to activate Office on my new computer. I prrefer to talk with a customer service agent on the phone but you make it very difficult to find a number, or even request a call.

Open one of the Office apps, if you are already logged into the Office apps, log out of the Office app.

Wait a couple of seconds, then log back into Office, is your subscription/licence then recognised correctly?

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, is your Office licence listed correctly there, or if that is a subscription, check the expiry date listed on your subscription, is that listed correctly.

If not, go to the Payments and Billing section, is it indicated your payment has been processed correctly.

To speak with a human and get help activating Microsoft 365 and Office, use one of these options:

1. Use the Get Help/Contact Support flow (recommended for home users)
   • Go to the Microsoft support page for home users: Get Help.
   • Select Get help.
   • Describe the problem (for example: “Need help activating Office 365, don’t have product key, want to talk to an agent”).
   • Follow the prompts to either start a chat or request a call back from a support agent.
2. Use the general “Help with Microsoft Store purchases” entry point (if 365 was bought online from Microsoft)
   • Go to the Help with Microsoft Store purchases page: Get help.
   • Select Get help, describe the activation issue, and choose chat or request a call.
   • If more help is needed, scroll to the region list on that page and select the country/region to see available Microsoft Store Sales Support phone numbers.
3. Use the global customer service phone directory
   • Open the customer service phone numbers page: Customer service phone numbers.
   • For a personal/home Microsoft 365 subscription, select Get Help on that page to reach support; phone options are primarily listed for business/volume licensing, but the Get Help flow can still connect to an agent or callback.
4. If the issue is specifically that the product key is missing
   • If there is valid proof of purchase for Microsoft 365/Office, support may be able to help with activation or provide options. Use the Contact Microsoft support links in the product key article: Contact Microsoft support.

In all cases, after starting in the web “Get Help” experience, choose options like Contact support, Chat, or Call me back to reach a human agent.
