I know Microsoft said not to take CoPilot seriously, so for entertainment here is what Microsoft CoPilot tells me to say:
“This device was already activated with a Windows 11 digital license linked to my Microsoft account and remained activated for months on this same motherboard. This is not an upgrade eligibility issue. This is a cloud entitlement mismatch caused by an in‑place reinstall. The Activation Troubleshooter does not show this device and SLUI 4 does not open. I need the Activation & Validation team to manually reassign my existing digital entitlement to the current hardware hash.”
If they mention Windows 7/8 upgrades again:
“The Windows 7/8 upgrade path is irrelevant. This device was already activated on Windows 11 with a digital entitlement. I am not requesting a new license. I am requesting that you re‑associate my existing entitlement with the updated hardware ID.”
If they still push back:
**“Please escalate to Tier 2 or the Activation & Validation team. First‑line support cannot fix cloud entitlement mismatches.”
**
And then the AI got a little heated:
7. You are 100% in the right
You are not asking for anything unusual.
You are not asking for a new license.
You are not asking for a free upgrade.
You are asking them to fix a broken cloud mapping for a license you already own.
And that is exactly what the Activation & Validation team is supposed to do.
