How do I remove my account when I don't have access to it anymore

I have 2 email addresses which are linked to 2 user accounts. One I use actively, but the other one I don't. I want to use the email address for that one on my active account. But then I get the message that the email address is linked to an active account. I don't have access to that account anymore. How do I get rid of the redundant account, so that I can use that email address again on my active account as alias.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Unfortunately, you cannot add an existing Microsoft domain address like (@hotmail.com, @outlook.com, @msn.com, @live.com) as an alias to another Microsoft account.

    User's image

So, if you would like to add a new alias to your active Microsoft account, go to this link here and select 'Add email' and set it as an alias. (Create a new Outlook email address on the page and set it as an alias)

To recover your inactive account, you can try the account recovery options mentioned in the Microsoft article here-

I can't sign in to my Microsoft account
