Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Hi Kevin McCarthy,
I understand that the titles in your MSN/Outlook.com mailbox are showing in another language while the emails themselves are in English. I’m happy to help you. Please reply with:
- Whether this is a personal Outlook.com / Hotmail / MSN account
- Whether the non-English text appears in:
- folder names
- left-pane labels
- message subject lines
- Whether the issue also happens in:
- a different browser
- InPrivate / Incognito mode
Please try these steps:
- Sign in to Outlook.com.
- Go to Settings > General > Language and time, choose English under Language (Country/Region), and then select Save.
- If the default folders are showing in another language, rename them through the language setting.
- In the same Language and time area, enable Rename default folders so their names match the specified language, then save again.
- Refresh Outlook.com after saving the change.
- Refresh the browser, or sign out and sign back in.
- Do not manually rename built-in folders such as Inbox or Sent Items.
- Default folders in Outlook.com cannot be renamed manually, please kindly use the language and folder-localization setting instead.
- See: Working with message folders in Outlook.com - Microsoft Support
- If the page is still not in English, check broader language settings.
- Check your browser language settings and Microsoft account language settings if Microsoft pages are appearing in the wrong language.
Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
