Tracking, updating, and organizing tasks within Microsoft Teams or integrated apps
Dear @Barbara Aerne,
To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:
- Could you share a screenshot of the issue?
Start date and Due date are normal task details that can be edited from the task itself. Please ask your teammate to try these steps:
Open the task in Planner.
Select the task to open its details.
Edit the Due date / Finish date field there.
If your teammate still cannot do it, please use InPrivate browser and check if it works. Or you can reassign the task for your teammate.
In addition, kindly create a new task and share with your teammate. Then, check if they can edit the Due Date.
Microsoft Planner currently do not support locking task due dates. While you can assign a due date and designate a responsible person for the task, the assignee retains the ability to modify both the start and due dates if needed. In my test environment, this functionality is operating as expected in both Microsoft Teams and the web interface.
I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.
The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.
