Fax and Scan Nowhere to be found

I don't have Windows Fax and Scan on pc and cannot find it through system, optional features. How can I install either Fax and Scan or simply a Scan program?

Let's try to install Windows Fax and Scan using Command Prompt

Press Start then search Command Prompt

Right click it then select Run as administrator

Copy and paste the command below then press Enter

dism /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Print.Fax.Scan~~~~0.0.1.0

On Windows 11, Windows Fax and Scan is installed as an optional feature.

To install Windows Fax and Scan:

1. Open Settings → System → Optional features.
2. Select View features.
3. In the search box, type fax.
4. Select Windows Fax and Scan from the list.
5. Click Next, then Install.

If only a scan program is needed (no fax), use the built-in Windows Scan app:

1. Make sure the scanner is installed and turned on.
2. Right-click the Start menu and select Search.
3. Type Windows Scan.
   • If it appears under Apps, select it and use it to scan.
   • If it does not appear, install it from Microsoft Store using this link: Windows Scan.
4. Place the document or picture in the scanner.
5. In the Scan app:
   • Choose the correct Scanner and Source (Flatbed/Feeder/Auto-configured).
   • Choose a File type (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, Bitmap).
   • Optionally set Save file to for the folder.
6. Select Scan to create the file.

Scans are saved in the chosen folder, or by default in Pictures/Scans in the user folder.
