Can an Irish sole trader (non-incorporated) qualify for Public Trust identity validation? I have also legally applied to Trade under a different name, not my own so that in the future can add an Umbrella to multiple products

Can an Irish sole trader (non-incorporated) qualify for Public Trust identity validation? I have also legally applied to Trade under a different name, not my own so that in the future can add an Umbrella to multiple software products.
My app is close to ready to publish so I am looking at signing options, where the most convenient one that makes most financial sense is via Azure portal.

Public Trust certificates in Azure Artifact Signing are currently available only to organizations in the USA, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, and to individual developers in the USA and Canada. This geographic limitation applies to Public Trust certificates but not to Private Trust certificates.

The documentation does not distinguish between incorporated and non‑incorporated entities within eligible regions, nor does it list Ireland (or any specific EU country) separately; it treats the European Union as an eligible region for organizations only. Individual developers are limited to the USA and Canada.

Therefore, for Public Trust in Artifact Signing:

    • Organizations in the EU (including Ireland) are eligible.
    • Individual developers (including sole traders) are only supported in the USA and Canada.

If operating as an Irish sole trader and treated as an individual developer rather than an organization, this does not meet the current Public Trust eligibility for individuals. Private Trust certificates are not subject to this geographic limitation.

The service also does not support custom Common Name (CN) or Organization (O) values; CN must be the validated legal entity name per CA/Browser Forum requirements. Using a separate trading name or umbrella brand as CN or O is not supported with Artifact Signing Public Trust.
